About Gaia Devices
Gaia devices are trans-scalar planetary assemblages, key points of reciprocal interactions between planetary and domestic scales that reflect both human thinking and Earth systems. Units that carry an element of human design are made of recyclable matter and are opened to the flux of matter. Gaia devices are sinks of waste and wells of matter. What type of architectural object might constitute a Gaia device? In their lecture, Gaia Devices, Ophelia Mantz and Rafael B Duran of Z4A will introduce a series of architectural works -Gaia Devices- envisioning an architecture for and of a damaged planet.
