Emmanuel Didier will frame the significance of Place as we design for a world in transformation. Emmanuel will present recent work conveying the importance of the site, and share his studio’s approach to Landscape Architecture as a medium to explore big ideas and create positive change through design. His presentation will emphasize methods and practices for understanding how a place came to evolve over time in order to re-imagine our urban landscapes toward healthy and vibrant environments for all.
Andrew Herdeg, FAIA will present recent work by Lake|Flato that explores the role of architecture in connecting people to the natural environment and urban communities. Andrew will share several projects of diverse scale and programs that demonstrate the critical role that the environmental and landscape context plays in shaping their work. The presentation will also briefly touch on the firm’s culture and its process that focuses on advancing building performance through an integrated design process.
