Harold Massop Exhibition
August 15 - September 30, 2023
Second Floor Gallery
Harold Massop's storied career began in Jamaica. "In Jamaica," Massop explains, "being black does not disqualify you from attaining your highest professional goals." In the United States, he experienced otherwise. A fascination with Bauhaus led Massop to seek admission to Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York. When he first arrived, the admissions officer asked, "Are you sure that you are at the right place? This is not a black school. Are you sure this is what you want to do?" Massop was sure.
Before Massop's retirement in 2018, Harold Massop Associate Architects in Cherry Creek provided full design and technical services to clients for over 30 years. Massop has designed and managed over fifty million square feet of new, remodeled, and interior design projects, including residential and commercial properties. Whether you are enjoying the Denver Convention Center or waiting at the station to board the train to Denver International Airport, tourists and Denverites experience his works daily.
The exhibition runs through September 30, 2023 and is open to the public Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Visitors must check-in at the security desk on the 1st floor and then phone 303-315-1000 (CAP Main Desk) so that someone can meet them and bring them up to the 2nd floor.
